L.A. Lepiane Wines
Alison Thomson revived her great-grandfather Luigi A. Lepiane’s original wine label—first established in 1935—in 2013 with a mission: to craft Italian varietal wines that honor their heritage while celebrating the beauty of Santa Barbara County fruit.
With degrees in plant science and viticulture, and hands-on experience in Barolo and at several California wineries, Alison focuses on farming and sourcing from cool-climate vineyards to produce soulful, expressive, small-batch wines. Her lineup includes Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Malvasia Bianca—wines that speak clearly of place, vintage, and variety, made with minimal intervention and maximum intention.
Production hovers around 500 cases annually, and with demand continuing to grow—and our love of sharing these wines—they rarely stick around for long.
